Fallout 76 Reputation

As you travel across Appalachia, you'll build relationships with its occupants - both good and bad. Increasing your Reputation with the factions of Appalachia has some significant advantages, while getting on a faction's bad side can close off opportunities... and even get you killed.

The Crater reputation level starts at Hostile which is currently -2200. 200 worse than Hostile - so one good act won't change everything for you.

Foundation reputation level starts at Cautious which is currently -800 (200 points above Cautious at -1000 so one kill doesn't get you killed on sight).

Viewing Your Reputation

You can view your Reputation with the factions of Appalachia at any time by visiting the Social Menu.

Reputation Benefits and Costs

Having a good Reputation with a group has its benefits, including access to their vendors, Daily Quests, and, as your Reputation increases, the opportunity to purchase better and better equipment.

Some Gold Bullion plans will be shown only after reaching a certain level of reputation: Fallout 76 Gold Bullion: Plans & Vendors.

If your Reputation gets too low with a given group, all the benefits disappear: faction vendors cease to sell to you, Daily Quests are no longer available, and members of the faction out in the wilderness may even attack you on sight!

Increasing Reputation

There are three primary ways to increase your Reputation with a faction:

  • Make choices during your quests that favor that group and its members
  • Perform Daily Quests for the faction (which unlock after visiting their home base for the first time)
  • Aid members of the faction you encounter out in the Appalachian wilderness

Losing Reputation

There is only one major way to lose reputation - siding against the faction during your quests. Other actions may make a faction hostile to you, but only quest decisions will result in permanent reputation loss.

Repairing Reputation

If you've significantly damaged your reputation with a faction, you can visit Cherise at the Wayward (after you've finished the Wayward and Main Questlines) to reset your Reputation value with a given faction - for a price.
